Spring has always been about the return of Hope – the promise that even the most difficult or dire circumstances can get, or be better. When those daffodils begin to bloom, when the dandelions and clover show up in the grass, our hearts lift with more lightness, hope, and sometimes even the promise of joy.

But how can we be hopeful in these difficult times, you may ask, when everywhere we turn, people are suffering, and there is destruction of our living environments, wildlife, and Nature.

There are many ways to be active in changing these things for the better in our world, but they all begin with ourselves. When help, fortune, or even love is not coming to us from others, or to our life circumstances, they must still come from within ourselves first. Even if those blessings are coming to us, we must still activate them in ourselves in order to raise our consciousness to its full potential in a way that hasn’t been possible for millennia, but may be presently available.

Is the way we feel about life coming from outside ourselves, or is it coming from a knowledge of who we are, and of the Love that begins with first finding Godness within? If it’s coming from outside, then we would have to have things be perfect, and be ever-more controlling, in order to have a sense of well-being. That ain’t gonna happen! Self-awareness will clue us in that our desire to control our lives and surroundings with an iron fist is based in fear.

The first thing we can do is stop criticizing ourselves. The second thing is to stop being negative or letting anger, hatred or violence in the world determine our mood. Instead, when policy makers enact laws or courses of action that are unfair or destructive to people or the environment, our I AM consciousness can appeal to their higher consciousness to act in accordance with justice, honor and compassion. There’s power in that.

In a previous message, I’ve spoken about pivoting toward the positive. We have the ability to turn toward that which is more affirmative, constructive, and optimistic anytime our awareness picks up that we’re being negative or fearful. We don’t have to be able to see immediate results in order to do that. Instead, what’s important is to affirm what we do want – not put our energies into manifesting what we don’t want. For, where our energy resides is what will ultimately appear in our lives. So, I offer you the following practice now:

  • Start with a simple ceremony. Have some paper and pen. Light a candle. Preferably red for power, but use what’s available. Connect with your I AM-ness which is where you connect with the Godness.
  • When you feel ready, on the first sheet of paper, write down everything you no longer need or want in your life, especially the ways in which you hold negative thoughts. Just name them, don’t go into it. Then burn that paper (preferably outside) while saying “I am free.” Then replace the old with the next step.
  • Get out a second sheet of paper. On the second sheet, write down what you DO want in your life BUT – and this is important. Write it in the present tense. So, for example, you might write: “I now have all the help I need to …” and then name each thing separately. You can affirm your abilities, abundance, and your healthy relationship with yourself, others, and Spirit. Take your time and remember to phrase everything positively and in a way that expresses a good outcome, but keep it real.
  • Ask the angels for help implementing what you’ve asked for. Let yourself feel loved and heard by them. When an intuition or hunch comes to you, follow through on it. Ask the angels and your Higher Self to help you, even if things get worse before they get better. Whenever we let go of our old ways, there is temporary recoil to challenge us for a while before more positive patterns emerge. That’s what’s going on in the world right now too. Things coming to a head when underneath they are changing, but we can’t see it until it manifests.
  • When the ceremony is done, and you blow out the candle, put the second list in an envelope, or make one from a sheet of paper if you don’t have an envelope. Again – red if you have one – maybe left over from a Christmas card – and put the envelope under your pillow for 3 nights. After the 3 nights, open the envelope every morning and read through your I Am and I Have statements, letting the power of them flood through your being.
  • Listen to any guidance you get about doing something new. Be open to new opportunities and follow through on them. Really let go of any belief in the obstacles to manifesting your good.

We were made by our Creator, and we have the ability to create. Often we’re not feeling that power at first, but in the new and greater energies that will soon manifest on our planet, we will see more of it. Meanwhile, have you noticed how much more often, regular people are manifesting kindness to strangers? Little things that make a big difference in people’s lives. Just people being helpful and as generous as they can. When you have the opportunity to help others, do so, even if it’s just having a few jokes handy for the people you work with, or while shopping or doing errands.

I’m also observing a lot more caring between people and animals, especially with people for strays and for wild animals that need help. If you want to read more about these, check out The Dodo, which is a newsletter about animals that has short videos and comes to your email twice a week. Very heartening!

If we decide that every day, we will do something kind for another, or the environment, we will start noticing opportunities to do so. That may also assuage feelings of isolation or depression, for it gives even people who live alone an experience of community and connection.

Another thing we can do is to comfort those who have lost one dear to them. I know the cards and messages of condolence I’ve received, after my dog Ebbie – my constant companion for 13 ½ years who died on January 29th – have greatly helped to comfort me through my grief. I even received the beautiful lasered picture you see here, done by the extraordinary woman at Ebbie’s holistic veterinary practice. Besides running the office for Dr. Kevin Landau, Brenda Samson (Lazer Genie) does photo engravings on granite stone of people’s pets who are still here on earth or who have passed on. She gifted me with this engraving, and every time I look at it, my heart swells with gratitude.

So – many blessings, dear ones. May you have, and enjoy, a beautiful Spring, and may you treasure every moment of your life to your fullest capacity, giving blessing to all on Earth, as well as yourself.
